One step at a time.

I’ve been obsessed with braids and hairstyling lately. I actually love braids since childhood. I remembered how my big sis’s friend asked me to do a simple french braid on her before she goes to school. But that love died when my mother wanted me to look like a guy and asked coiffeurs to cut my hair short (I was once a kid with louse).

But thanks to tumblr who activated my late love for braids. It started when I got intrigue on how fishtail braid was done. Thanks to Zia who taught Pauline how to do that, and thanks to Pauline who passed that knowledge to me. Then I saw myself on youtube, watching lots of video tutorials and doing them on my bestfriend’s hair.

Since we made a hair blog and we’re serious about it, I bought something as a little investment in this field I want to pursue.

A 6102-Nano Cutting Comb from Watsons with a very affordable price. I really need this to divide hair evenly and to avoid using this. LOL.

I love the glitters that gave it a galaxy-effect look. <3

And this cute little boxes from Papemelroti. They’re so cute and perfect for my sanrio bands and hair pins.

(Trying to be an organized smut here. LOL)

I was so inspired, I made 3 hairstyles in one sitting. Uh huh! Thanks to Pauline who’s been very patient with me and to his dad for being supportive.

Watch out for more braids and hairstyles here!

Mrs John Lennon.

Oh hi blogger! I missed you! It's been almost 4 months, and damn. I've been busy this summer (cause I took On the Job Training for school) and didn't had the chance to post something here. Though I have my tumblr as an everyday online diary, I feel the need of sharing this to you.

A simple shoot with my bestfriend Pauline.

Have I told you that I love John Lennon? Yes, I love him, and all Beatles's band members.

I really wish I can be Mrs. Lennon.

Learning.

Even I hate school like fuck, I love learning. I love knowing new things on my own. Tutorials are my bestfriends when it comes to this matter. I have patience and if I want to know something, I'll make a way to learn it.

(photo from tumblr)

So when I saw this, I searched how to do this on youtube.
I watched this.

Then I did it to my bestfriend's hair.

Pretty right?

It's just perseverance, and you could do things on your own. So never stop until you learn and get what you want.

Summer Job Hunt.

Last day (Tuesday) me and three of my classmates (Klarizza, Michelle and Leah) went to Ortigas and Makati for an OJT hunt. We were looking for a bank that we could work to this summer for our practicum. That was one great experience that made me feel excited about working and earning money.

We first went to Ortigas, where I would want to take my OJT. I just want to work and feel like a real working girl while walking into the streets and seeing high buildings. The fact that it's just a 2 ride from our house made me love it more.

Union Bank's building was our fist stop. We just admired how beautiful that building is. All the blue glasses surrounding it and it's height that's really admirable, WOW. A work place material. But we were not sure if they could recognize us because we just left resumes on their drop box.

Next stop, the RCBC Main Office, that bring the shit out of us. That was the time that made me realize not to always trust security guards. It's like they played trick on us, and instructed us wrong directions. Good this we finally found it, in the 18'th floor of a building. We asked, gave our resumes and answered an application form. We're almost done when our 8 blockmates came, and there were just 2 slots left for the main office. If they want, they could take their OJT to branches. We just need to complete our requirements and they will evaluate our answers to the application letter, then we can start if we passed.

After all the shit, we got the hell out of there and went to Ayala. Michelle didn't able to come cause she had work, so three of us were left.

After riding MRT from Shaw to Ayala, we decided to eat, cause we're dead hungry. We ate at Mang Inasal for the unlimited rice. I just had 2 rice because I were full already, but Klarizza, the girl that has almost exact body that I have, had 4 rice. Gosh, she really was hungry that time. After the eating-like-a-guy moment was the WALK. We walked and walked and walked. My 1 inch heels almost killed me. At the end, we had nothing. The banks were looking for an endorsement letter by our school that we don't have yet. But the hell, Makati is so beautiful. Double the buildings from Ortigas, and the place's so clean I could lick the floor. LOLjk.

Since I were tired to walk again, I rode a bus to Cubao together with Leah because she's on the way. We had a long trip that gave us chance to talk and gossip. When I landed to Cubao, I rode a jeep straight to our place. Then I met Carlo, my stress and pain reliever.

I wish RCBC could be an angel. I'm excited to work, and I wish I could earn money.

(Feeling like a working girl.)

Florals..

March 21, 2011 was a great day with two of the most beautiful girls in the world. We had a shoot, that was not a planned one. It's just when we're possessed by creativity, we do what we want.

(Photography by Sai Pauline)

Alexandra supposed to be the only model and we said we'll focus on her, but its me and Dessa who had nice outfits and were ready, so the three of us became the models with the help of teamwork and tripod.
We started taking pictures around 5PM in a near subdivision from Alexandra's crib, and we hurriedly posed/took pictures to chase the sunlight before the sundown.
We were not happy with the pictures, because of we felt that there's nothing special about the photos. But at the time I posted the pictures on my facebook, 24 people liked the album and I received a lot of good feedbacks from them even through tumblr.
This is the second time that I became a model of my friend, and I loved that I also received compliments two times. We are no professionals and just love doing stuffs like this. I know that to some we're just noobs and we're nothing, but as long as people who believe in us encourages us, we will never stop.
I am looking forward for more photoshoots, even if I'm not the model. I would want to be hairstylist or in charge of concept or whatever. At least I am doing the thing I love even I don't have the equipment needed.
It's not the equipment anyway, it's if you have an eye for it.

Back to the 70's.

I really wish I live at the 70's. Though Martial Law was declared at 1972, I still think that people at that time were cool. The fashion, music and stuffs. I really want to have a time machine and go back then. Just hearing my father's story of how he's 70's was makes me love it (though it is not far from 60's and 80's).

The thing that I love the most about the 70's is their music. My favorite old school band (influenced by my father of course) Earth, Wind and Fire started at that decade. And not just them. There are lots of bands and artists that had the pinnacle of their success at this decade.

(These are the artists I know and I love)
  1. Beatles
  2. The Carpenters
  3. America
  4. Stevie Wonder
  5. Elton John
  6. Rolling Stones
  7. The Eagles
  8. The Queen
  9. Bee Gees
  10. Bob Marley
  11. Al Green
  12. Rod Stewart
  13. The Beach Boys
  14. Elvis Presley
  15. James Taylor
  16. Dianna Ross
  17. Don Mclean
  18. Carole King
  19. Asin
  20. Apo Hiking Society

My father used to play songs by most of these artists every morning since I was a child until now, and I used to like them too.

The other thing i love about the 70’s is the fashion. And when you say 70’s, you’ll always think of RETRO. Yes, I love Retro. I love vintage.

All the florals, checkereds, shapes, dresses, hair styles, accessories and shoes. Damn, they are all mouth watering.

And not just those things. Environment back at the 70’s was not as messed up as now. My father once told me that people before were disciplined. Luneta, Baywalk and other known places in the Manila were clean that people not only from Manila but from other places would love to stay.

Sometimes, the narrow minded me feels so unlucky that I have to live at the time where everything seems like scruffy. Though I should be thankful, that I still have the chance to live and experience how wonderful God’s greatest give can be.

I just wish that things can be as cool as the 70’s.
